Call Processing

ETSI Capability Set 2 state machines with all detection points, points in call and multiparty support.

Number Analysis

Black and white lists, insertion and deletion of digits, modification of parameters such as nature of address.

Route Selection

Time of day, day of week, least cost, overflow and percentage call distribution.

Call Treatments

Calls may be played tones and announcements either as a result of number analysis or due to
a specific release code in the clear down signaling.

Fax Support

T.38 fax is supported for all call types.

DTMF Support

Transit of DTMF tones is supported out-of-band in the RTP stream, as per RFC 2833.     

 

 

Operations, Administration and Maintenance

Command Line            

Man Machine interface based on ITU-T Z.315 with access control for commands.

Web Admin Interface

Configuration and monitoring through web browser.

Alarms and Alerts

Output as ASCII string to a TCP/IP connection or as SNMP traps.

Statistics on most functions are logged to ASCII reports, including:

Fault Tolerance

Command LineActive/Standby machines with maintenance of active SIP and ISUP calls during a failover. Calls involving H.323 are not maintained. 

Also, the application includes auto restart of failed processes and restart of application on machine reboot.

 

 

Performance and Sizing 

For full carrier-grade redundancy, deploy as one or more active/standby pairs.

The performance is dependent on hardware platform. Figures below apply to a single openCallAgent active/standby pair. 

For scalability, multiple OCA SoftSwitch active/standby pairs may be aggregated to support up to 3,600,000 BHCA.

Endpoints

No hard limit. Tested to 100,000 endpoints from SIP, MGCP and H.323 combined.

 

 

Recommended Hardware Platforms

Intel Xeon platforms using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or CentOS 6 operating system.

Customers deploying OCA SoftSwitch require a Signaling Gateway and Media Gateway or a device encompassing both (Audiocodes Mediant 2000).
